What causes acne?
There are numerous factors that can lead to acne, primarily involving the oil-producing glands on the face known as pilosebaceous glands. These glands secrete sebum and are highly responsive to hormone levels in the bloodstream, which can result in excessive oil production. When there is too much oil and a buildup of dead skin cells, the glands can become blocked, leading to the formation of blackheads and whiteheads.
